O conceito de dignidade humana em Enrique Dussel

Abstract

The philosophy elaborated by the philosopher Enrique Dussel, Philosophy of Liberation, is inspired by Marxist thought in order to develop his particular utopian-critical scheme by understanding that philosophizing is only achievable having reality as its starting point, acting in this way, to a critique of the existing and elaborating an emancipator process through the political imperative that is the transformation of ethics into the recognition of human dignity for all: “The victims criticize the order, proclaim its dissolution, the need for its disappearance: it is the negative ethical-critical judgment par excellence of the system as a totality” (DUSSEL, 2000 p. 320). In this way, the demand for ethics and its immutable function of questioning the ultimate principles that underlie the decisions made by human beings are fulfilled. Likewise, the indispensability of considering the other is instituted, since, talking about ethics, therefore, results in talking about human dignity, in the elaboration of identities: There is precision of ethics, because there is another human being, subject of rights and bearer of dignity. This is the foundation of the ethics of Liberation, which seeks to establish itself as an ethics of life, carrying out a critique of the status quo from the relationship it elaborates between the denial of dignity, present in the anguish of the victims, and the awareness of this denial of dignity human.
