Abstract: | This paper addresses the praxeological theory of Pierre Bourdieu about the state field and about the school system, in order to evaluate the indigenous school education. It begins with the study of the state and its power of domination, confronting it with the culture and indigenous ethnicities. Examines the bourdieusian theoretical basis about the functions of legitimation and reproduction of education to then analyze the existing problems on indigenous education policy: if possible to reconcile the state school model with the indigenous aspirations. To face the dilemma, the characteristic elements of the specific indigenous school education are detailed. The existing normativity at a national level - constitutional and infra - as well as internationally will also be part of the analysis. It is intended to assess the implementation of the rights enshrined to the Indians, but the goal of the work is not limited to this, one time that ineffectiveness is part of the legitimate interests of the state field that tends to reproduce the social structure based on the dichotomy dominant versus dominated. Therefore, the comparative study of state policy of indigenous schooling between districts of Joaquim Gomes/AL and São Gabriel da Cachoeira/AM serves not only to analyze the effectiveness of existing standards, but it also lends itself to assess the political and sociocultural characteristics that led to the development of disparate state policies: one in favor of the Indians and the other with a tendency to reproduce the distinctive social structure. |
