Participação dos familiares na educação escolar: contribuições para a aprendizagem e desenvolvimento da criança

Abstract

Family participation in the school environment is of paramount importance for the development and learning of their sons and daughters. Thus, the interest arose in seeking theoretical bases that prove this importance, analyzing how families participate before and during the covid-19 pandemic. Thus, this study aimed to analyze and identify what research has revealed about the contributions of the active participation of family members in school education and its relationship with the development and learning of children. This is a research with a qualitative approach, of a bibliographic nature, associated with the state of the art or literature review, in which we analyzed the abstracts of 61 theses and dissertations from the years 2015-2021. We observed that there is still a great distance between school and family institution, where the main reasons are: the work of the parents and the incompatibility in the times of events or meetings promoted by the school, the lack of initiative of the institution to promote greater ties with the family members and the social vulnerability of families who have low schooling and are unaware of how effective their participation in their children's school life is for their development and learning. On the other hand, we found that when parents or guardians are actively involved in the child's school life, they are safer, leading them to more productive interaction and communication with their classmates and education professionals, reducing levels of of indiscipline and violence, thus contributing to their development and learning.
