dc.description.abstractThe Scientific Initiation, in addition to promoting the academic rise of undergraduate students, also stimulates their entry into graduate school. The work on screen aims to analyze the historical process of scientific initiation of the Federal University and its contributions in the consolidation of identity, image and institutional communication. We emphasize that the process for the construction of the mission, vision and values of the institution are linked to the strategic management of public relations, through institutional communication. The methodology developed involved a descriptive analysis of the historical evolution of this program, based on the annais of scientific initiation meetings, the institutional reports of the institution and CNPq and the reports of articles published on the website of Ufal and others, emphasizing the relevance of scientific initiation in the academic life of young scientists. The historical memory of scientific initiation began at UFAL in 1990, in partnership with UFS, with only 35 scholarships funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq-MCT). Currently, in the 2020-2021 cycle, the program already has 297 CNPq scholarships, 8 Pibic Af scholarships, 151 Fapeal scholarships, 360 institutional cota scholarships (Pibic Ufal) and 8 institutional scholarships (Pibic Ufal Af). These data show that the scientific research policies developed by Ufal are reathing consolidated fruits in new researchers.pt_BR

dc.description.resumoA Iniciação Científica, além de promover a ascensão acadêmica dos alunos de graduação, estimula também o seu ingresso na pós-graduação. O trabalho em tela objetiva analisar o processo histórico da Iniciação Científica da Universidade Federal e as suas contribuições na consolidação da identidade, da imagem e da comunicação institucional. Enfatizamos que o processo para a construção da missão, da visão e dos valores da instituição estão atrelados à gestão estratégica das relações públicas, através da comunicação institucional. A metodologia desenvolvida envolveu uma análise descritiva da evolução histórica do referido programa, com base nos anais dos encontros de Iniciação Científica, nos relatórios institucionais da instituição e do CNPq e nos relatos de matérias publicadas no site da Ufal e outros, enfatizando a relevância da IC na vida acadêmica de jovens cientistas. A memória histórica da IC iniciou-se na UFAL em 1990, em parceria com a UFS, com apenas 35 bolsas financiadas pelo Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq-MCT). Atualmente, no ciclo 2020-2021 o programa já conta com 297 bolsas do CNPq, 8 bolsas Pibic Af, 151 bolsas da Fapeal, 360 bolsas da Cota institucionais (Pibic Ufal) e 8 bolsas institucionais (Pibic Ufal Af). Esses dados retratam que as políticas de pesquisa científica desenvolvidas pela Ufal estão colhendo frutos consolidados em novos pesquisadores.pt_BR
