'Ciclo sem Fim': uma análise narratológica musical de 'O Rei Leão' (1994)

Abstract

This research aims to understand how the songs of The Lion King (1994) helped to construct the narrative of the animation. Through a historical review of the importance of music in cinema, through the studies of Tony Berchmans (2012) and the writing of André Baptista (2007) about the work La Musique au Cinéma (1995), by Michel Chion, in addition to the contextualization of Walt Disney's legacy and the importance of the animator in consecrating the Disney way of singing and telling stories in the genre of musical animation, with the support of Gabler's record (2006), we identified strategies used in the writing and production of animations by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The methodology used was a bibliographic review, collection of archives about the behind-the-scenes of animation and film analysis, deepened by Christopher Vogler's Hero's Journey (2006) and by the categorization of the types of key songs of the studio, exposed by Jason Surrell (2009). The results found allowed us to better assimilate animated cinema and understand the work of the team responsible for animation, which is, in many ways, the art of the invisible.
