Feminino infamiliar: uma discussão teórica ilustrada pelo romance O Conto da Aia

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to weave questions between the feminine and Freudian psychoanalysis, with an emphasis on the subordination of the feminine and women. For this, we start from the issue of hatred towards women and the fact that they have been, throughout history, marked by a trace of negativity. Negativity serves as a guiding and research thread to think about possible relationships between the feminine, the uncanny, and the work “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margareth Atwood and the hatred of women. Therefore, the basis of the articulations proposed in this writing is in the Freudian essay “The uncanny” - a concept Word that is closely associated with the feminine. The commitment to a study on women and violence is justified by the growing number of femicides in Alagoas, Brazil and the world, which point to the importance of the topic, both politically and socially, as well as clinically.
