Construção de um manual de orientações de higiene bucal para linguagem de sinais e adaptação ao aplicativo multimídia

Abstract

Objective: Develop a manual with oral hygiene guidelines for sign language and adapt it to the multimedia application.. Materials and Methods: Initially, a literature review was carried out with articles on oral health and dental care for deaf and mute patients using the Key words: Health, Oral hygiene and application in databases (Google Scholar, Scielo and PubMed). Subsequently, a manual with oral hygiene instructions was created in the Canva application and then the development of the multimedia application, with topics that define oral health and hygiene, choosing a brush, brushing techniques and other important points demonstrated in the manual. Finally, a satisfaction questionnaire was carried out on the use of the application (APP) developed. Results: 17 articles were identified that fit the objective of the study and were used to develop the manual that presented the importance of Libras in dentistry, health and oral hygiene, instruction on brushing, biofilm and tooth decay and other topics adapted to the language of signals. The development of the application was based on all the information and images in the manual. Regarding the satisfaction questionnaire, all participants (6) responded with positive feedback about its use and functions. Conclusion: Given the above, it is possible to observe a lack in management and communication between a dentistry professional and a patient who uses LIBRAS. Furthermore, it is seen that the development of a manual and the APP allow for a greater process of social inclusion.
