A infância religiosa do Candomblé: os olhares dos pesquisandos, etnografia e educação

Abstract

This master thesis is the result of an ethnographic study that investigated the religious life of children of Candomblé in the terreiro, respecting their identities and peering into their eyes-work about the religion, the religious community of the terreiro, the learning, the school and who they are. In the first chapter, there is a discussion of religious diversity and how the school deals with it, also bringing the specifies of the field in Alagoas. In the second, became more evident that contributions that may be given to the practice of ethnography and Anthropology regarding the ethical debate of identification around the preservation of identities in which this research believes; the question of proximity of the reality of search by the memories, as so the specifies that field brings to build the methodological applications, these issues were discussed in that chapter. The third shows who these children are, how they act and interact in the terreiro, and the eyes-work they cast from it about their experiences. It spoke up slightly on the subject of racism, but not left out its existence and persistence in social structures as something likeless. From the eyes-work and voices of children opened up prospects for ways to get on the reason of things most seemingly anodyne out of the way. This research ended up showing a childhood educated in terreiros, but been forgotten and rejected in the school environment, dealing with racism in this environment almost never with apparent motivation. So far, could be confirmed, and with the help of literature, the denial for so long that took and still takes the Candomblé in society, including its visibility in the school public space and education.
