O adoecimento discente frente às demandas da graduação: uma realidade do curso de pedagogia da Universidade Federal de Alagoas

Abstract

The present study had as object of research the student's illness in face of the demands from the graduation course in Pedagogy, offered by the Education Center of the Federal University of Alagoas (Universidade Federal de Alagoas), considering that there are only a few discussions about student illness in academic research. The research problem has the following question: what are the demands arising from the undergraduate course in Pedagogy, CEDU/UFAL, and how they can interfere in student illness? The main objective of the research was to analyze the demands arising undergraduate education in Pedagogy and how they can interfere with student illness. To achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives were established: to investigate the social factors that influence the illness process of undergraduate students from Pedagogy of UFAL; to describe the requirements arising from the undergraduate course in Pedagogy and how they contribute to student illness; to reflect on the relationship between teachers and students and their influence in the context of illness of undergraduate students of Pedagogy at UFAL; and finally, to understand the relationship between the labor market and the expectations of students in the context of their education and their influence on the illness of undergraduate students from Pedagogy of UFAL. The methodology used was through a qualitative approach, and the research technique was the case study. Data collection was performed using an online questionnaire with students of the Pedagogy course from the 5th to the 9th semester. The data was analyzed through Content Analysis, from Bardin's perspective. The main results of the study present that there are signs of student illness in the research locus, a factor caused and aggravated by the articulation of several factors, but mainly elements of the academic context, and it is relevant to highlight that the discussions on the subject, within the scope of the Education, are still not enough, making it necessary to think about actions and proposals that contribute to improving the quality of academic life of undergraduate students in Pedagogy of UFAL.
