Estudo comparativo entre prótese analógica e prótese digital em prótese parcial removível: revisão de literatura

Abstract

Introduction: With the new technologies, the digital flow in the manufacture removable partial prosthesis (PPR) has gained more space when compared with the analogical way of preparation, thanks to the easiness, speed of production and fidelity. Objective: The current work analyzed the differences in the production of digital removable partial prosthesis, as well as sought alternatives to the limitations found. Methodology: Comparisons were made between the three working modes seen in the articles, which were: total digital flow, analog-digital flow and total analog flow and alternative techniques. This integrative review study used over a 10-year period the Pubmed/Mediline database, where the keywords were “CAD/CAM”, “RPD”, “removable partial prothesis digital flow”, “removable partial denture analog flow” e “removable partial denture techniques”, being included only articles in the English language. Results: The PPR obtained by means ofthe digitalstreamstands out to the analog-digitalstreamand the fully analog stream, the latter being with better results than the analogous-digitale stream. Conclusion: The help of CAD/CAM technology (data processing and manufacturing, respectively) has presented positively the evolution of techniques for the production of a PPR, however, this is not independent of the conventional method (analogic flow). Even so, the digital workflow was superior to the fully analogue flow.
