A literatura da vida real em “quarto de despejo” de Carolina Maria de Jesus

Abstract

The present work arose from the need to delve deeper into marginal/peripheral literature and the importance of this genre within Brazilian literature, for this, the research has as its theme "Carolina Maria de Jesus, real life literature". The objective is to report the life of a black woman from the favelas who lived through the pain and bitterness of the 1960s, in which machismo prevailed. Exploring, in this way, the wealth reported in a work where the author describes in detail the day-to-day reality of a slum dweller, in this work Maria de Jesus, brings stories of life in extreme poverty and struggle for social change. . However, it is also intended to analyze and contextualize the reports written by Carolina Maria de Jesus, citing some of the political, social and economic aspects that Brazilian society faced at that time, in the sense of the construction of relations between gender and race. Seeking to carry out a work methodology that was enriching, a qualitative and bibliographical research was chosen, with reference to the author's work and works by other authors who also make this kind of social denouncement through a marginalized literature, in an attempt to of knowing and having a critical look, on the denial of the lived reality. Highlighting writing and simple language, more influential, awakening the growth of the image of women, as feminists and empowered, something rare for the time. Thus, with the research that had been carried out, it is intended to know and disseminate the importance of peripheral Literature, through the work 'Quarto do Espejo', written by a totally forgotten woman on the margins of an excluding society that marginalizes, and despised by the situation of the country, describing with her vision the difficulties of the marginalized, poor and slum-dwelling class, of the struggle of a single black woman mother, but who confronts the rotten pattern of society, in search of a dignified life. For this analysis of the author and her work, we sought the reference of some authors, such as Martins (1993), Felinto (1996), Bonfim (2009) and Farias (2020).
