Percepções e significados da maternidade de mulheres em situação de prisão: uma contribuição da enfermagem à luz da fenomenologia social

Abstract

This study aimed to understand the perceptions and meanings of motherhood in women's prison situation. The prospect of Social Phenomenology of Alfred Schutz was chosen as theoretical and methodological framework of the study to better understand the woman in prison situation. The Prison Female Santa Luzia (EPFSL), located in Maceió-AL was studying the scenario that brought participants as women in prison position that we were in. It was possible to apprehend the perceptions and meanings of motherhood in seclusion and build the following thematic categories (typifications): Perceptions and meanings of the fault structure Perceptions available and meanings of (in) security, imprisonment Perceptions and meanings of the effects of prisionalização, Perceptions on separation of child and meanings of fear and suffering, perceptions and meanings about family relationships and perceptions of the phenomenon and meaning of the change of attitude in relation to maternity. The findings unveil that women in prison situation attributed their perceptions and meanings of motherhood in seclusion considering their socio-cultural conditions, integration into the prison system and the effects of prisionalização. The blame for the imprisonment of their children, the weakness of their social relations and structure available in the prison system did not refute the idealization of a better future for themselves and their children.
