Racismo e transfobia: O impacto na vida de mulheres travestis e transexuais que vivem na/da prostituição em Maceió-AL.

Abstract

In the middle of 2021, transvestite and transsexual women, especially as black and living in a vulnerable situation, are not assured of their basic rights of access to education, health and formal work, in addition to being eliminated from family abandonment and lack of public policies to ensure that their rights are not violated. Despite the existence of some legal provisions, it is visible that the racist, sexist, sexist, patriarchal, classist and heteronormative hegemonic model reinforces that public spaces are not for women, nor for black people and/or transvestites and transsexuals. This article is the final course work (TCC) of the Psychology course that aims to identify and discuss the impacts of racism and transphobia in the lives of transvestite and transsexual women who live in/from prostitution in Maceió-AL. To achieve this goal, we used excerpts to identify produced and available on the Wonderfull Channel, as well as dialogues that took place during the fieldwork, linked to the Transcidadania and Right to Health umbrella research, which was/is being carried out in the post -graduation in parallel with training in Psychology at the Federal University of Alagoas. This is divided into three parts. In the first one, we carried out a historical and social discussion on the trans issue in Alagoas. In the second, we discuss the discriminatory processes to which transvestite and transsexual women are subjected and how they impact the lives of transvestite and transsexual women in Maceió-AL. In the third and last part, we analyze the narratives of transvestite and transsexual women who live in/of prostitution in Maceió-AL.
