Raiz de sol: uma cartilha sobre tingimento natural com o rizoma da cúrcuma

Abstract

It is believed that man's need to protect himself from climatic actions has led him to cover his body, starting an endless story between clothing and being. The textile industry is one of the most important industrial segments in the world and has several links in its production chain, however, the use of synthetic dyes causes many concerns, especially with regard to the environment, since, for Silva (1994) brings with it a high pollutant load, since 90% of the chemical products used in textile processing are eliminated after fulfilling their functions. In this context, the objective of this work is to graphically develop a booklet, using the methodology of Bruno Munari (1981), approaching the technique of natural dyeing with the turmeric rhizome, a very accessible raw material with a high power of pigmentation, presenting all the step by step, from the extraction of the pigment, passing through the necessary materials, to the washing of the fabric, in addition to bringing 10 patterns with different designs and shapes, applied in clothing and decoration products.
