Vestígio de um forte: um contexto histórico de Porto Calvo e sua memória patrimonial

Abstract

This text initially deals with putting on the agenda in general the history of Porto Calvo and the roots of its development that is still of paramount importance for the place. It brings a succinct survey of the geographical formation of the city and its growth. In a sense, it aims to highlight the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the city that are still present in the city, questioning and planning methods for the collective citizen ideal of preservation to be applied and reflected. Regarding the methodology, this is a bibliographic review research, in which were used in this work: books and scientific articles that will strengthen the research; newspaper sites to analyze the numerous changes and practices made by the population of Portocalvense in relation to cultural heritage. In addition to field research to visit the church and do an interview. As a result of the research, we affirm that it contributes to the knowledge related to the heritage history of the city of Porto Calvo whose relevance is necessary for the cultural enrichment of the Region of Alagoas. Thus, this work will be of great importance due to the need for research related to the context of cultural heritage in Alagoas since, still in a large part, there is a lack of research related to the region of Porto Calvo. With this initiative will be provided an opening for the research area focused on the patrimonial plot and the intellectual addition of new documentation. In this sense, the work will reach not only the academic public, but the population of the city itself and others interested in the historical heritage research of our region.
