Gramática e o ensino da língua portuguesa nas escolas brasileiras: um breve histórico

Abstract

The featured article seeks to make a brief history about the study of grammar and the Portuguese language in Brazilian schools, as it is understood that this study is essential to better understand traditional and contemporary teaching. The aim of this study is to present the evolution of grammar and teaching of the Portuguese language and its importance for students who have difficulties in their learning. In the methodology of this article was made a bibliographic search to several electronic sources that contained important subjects for the elaboration of the content, where we tried to analyze several websites of the Internet. Search sites such as Google Scholar; Scientific Electronic Library Online - SciELO; Ministry of Education - MEC; among others. The work begins with a report on the emergence of grammar and its development more than two thousand years ago, as well as its evolution in Brazil. A reflective approach was also taken to the development of grammar where the role of the school in teaching reading and writing was questioned. Also highlighted were the practices of teaching the Portuguese language in the classroom, as it is understood that the teaching practice has not achieved such desired effects on education. The importance of the Portuguese language for the students was also discussed. The results and discussions put into question some aspects that guide grammar and the importance of innovating in the process of teaching the Portuguese language. In the conclusion it was highlighted that the learning of the Portuguese language still needs to improve since the students find it difficult in this learning process.
