Territórios, narrativas e escrevivências do e sobre o corpo de mulheres negras

Abstract

This research aims to problematize what the encounter of the bodies of a black woman in a street situation with a black university woman can produce. From this meeting, reflections and questions related to the female black body are elaborated, to the way it is viewed, depending on the places where it circulates, and how the image of the black woman was socially constructed in Europe. Based on the works and literature of bell hooks, Angela Davis and Conceição Evaristo, we discuss how the body of the black woman was manufactured by the European white ideal and how the reflections of this idealization still affects the academic black woman and a black woman in the street situation nowadays. The specific objectives are: a) to identify and analyze what is produced when the black woman's body occupies the university space; b) problematize what is socially manufactured on the body of black women in the territory of the streets; c) discuss how the racist and sexist stereotype of black women affects their bodies and their subjectivity. Through analyzes and discussions made through the “escrevivência” methodology (CONCEIÇÃO EVARISTO, 2007), we concluded that the image of the black woman is tied to the territory, building subjects and pointing values to these bodies. In the same way that these same territories are racially composed, which generates segregation and prejudice, depending on the bodies that pass through these spaces. We conclude the research by reflecting on how sexism and racism, tied to gender, prejudicefully define the body of black women.
