O impacto da pandemia da Covid-19 no âmbito da violência doméstica contra a mulher e a contribuição do Serviço Social

Abstract

Since ancient times, violence against women has been a social, historical and cultural problem in the most diverse societies. Based on this problem, the present research aimed to understand the impacts of domestic violence against women in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a view to pointing out the consequences caused by the pandemic, as well as understanding who this woman victim of violence is and analyze the role of Social Work in tackling this problem. The study methodology was characterized as being bibliographic and documentary of an exploratory and qualitative nature, through reading and recording and systematization of the data captured to respond to the objectives. Therefore, with the results obtained, it was observed that, with social isolation as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, gender-based violence gained a lot of repercussion, especially with the number of complaints registered. Finally, it was concluded that the degree in Social Work has constitutive elements set out in the professional ethical-political project for the work praxis of social workers, in a dynamic process, with a space of doubts, expectations and questions. A profession necessary to offer support in the exercise of rights and mainly to welcome and understand the victim.
