Os atributos da arquitetura moderna unifamiliar : uma análise para a compreensão da inter-relação entre os atributos modernos

Abstract

Identifying and understanding the material attributes of Modern Architecture of single-family homes, within the scope of international, national and regional discourses, was the first action of this work. The discussion of the attribute considered the authors Hernández (2014), Comas (2006), Cheregati (2007), Heck (2005), Naslavsky (2004) and Afonso (2020), which allowed characterizing the material attributes. The research is restricted to the physical characteristics of the works (tangible) and does not investigate the relationship with the intangibility between subject and object (Hidaka, 2011). Material attributes were grouped into four categories: generative, conditioning, volume and spatiality. This definition considers that the attributes are interrelated and demonstrates this attitude through the analysis of the Zenon Rocha residence. The analysis aims to identify the architectural attributes and their relationships in the configuration of spaces and form to point out the existing system of interactions. This posture believes that the mere existence of a material attribute does not make the architectural example “modern”, only the understanding of the interrelationship between the attributes as the result of a design action could validate such value to any architectural work. Finally, it points out that, in the analyzed example, the specificity is in the design strategy that handles the material attributes in favor of a modern expression without disregarding the place and traditions.
