Mulheres no ramo científico e o olhar e experiência de Marília Goulart

Abstract

For a long time, the female figure has been excluded from the scientific environment by a society structured in androcentric ideas and thoughts. This work aims to present considerations about the invisibility of women in the exact sciences, a historical and contemporary approach to the life of great scientists, including the illustrious researcher Marilia Goulart. It also addresses issues of discrimination, prejudice and gender stereotypes suffered by women in the scientific field and in the professional environment. The research is qualitative and quantitative in nature. Moreover, the methodology used was a mapping of educational research, for data analysis it was used statistical data with correlations of graphical representations of the data obtained by literature review, and an interview with professor Marilia Goulart, based on theoretical foundation of the contents studied. To develop such questions, it was necessary the theories and thoughts of scholars such as Schienbinger (2001), Bitencourt (2019), Carvalho (2014), Chassot (2004), Rousseau (1995), Bourdieu (2012), which supported the basis of this research. It was possible to observe that the female figure has conquered a lot of space in society and respect with much effort and prudence, but it is necessary to highlight that they are still a minority occupying prestigious scientific positions. Finally, projects, programs, and agencies that encourage the entry of girls and women into the exact sciences were addressed, since this is an area where there is a low percentage of women.
