Abstract

The present study it has the objective to analyze the professional demands placed for the social assistants for the politics of mental health in Brazil, giving emphasis to the Centers of Psicossocial Attention (Caps) in Maceió, searching to apprehend the paper developed for these professionals in these services and to identify the difficulties in the professional performance and the development of the Politics of Mental Health. For in such a way, the revision of the literature related to the thematic one and the objectives of the study, the documentary accomplishment of research on the legislation in Mental Health and the accomplishment of the empirical research had been developed, from an interview halfstructuralized carried through with the social assistants who act in the Caps of the city of Maceió. The data had disclosed that the social reinserção of the carriers of mental upheavals has been one of the recognized demands for the social assistants through the work next to the family, carried through through social, encaminhamentos orientações, clarifications concerning the development of the user in its therapeutical project etc. the absence of resources and joint with the institutions that contribute in the magnifying of the social nets of attendance, and the qualification absence had been recognized as the main difficulties ece of fishes to the professionals and the development of the service. The social insertion of the carrier of mental upheaval meets permeada by a series of limits, generating necessity of recognition and development of actions that collaborate in the joint of the users next to the community, in the incentive to the social participation. Thus, the understanding of the demands ece of fishes to the social assistants in the Caps alone is possible from the reflection concerning the social context, politician, cultural and economic where if the politics of mental health inserts.
