Abstract: The concept of sexuality is holistic, has a biological, psychosocial and cultural character, aside from addressing concepts related to human health, including the theme of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Discussions about STIs have been addressed for a long time in high schools, however, it is possible that the applied methodology on the subject is not appropriate, triggering deficiency in understanding, reflecting in increasing rates of STIs among adolescents. In this sense, the teacher has the option of investing in playful methodologies, which dialogue with the reality of the student, making students protagonists in the construction of knowledge. In this scenario, theatrical expression can be seen as a good strategy to address topics such as STIs, since this type of artistic expression promotes fundamental reflective actions for consolidating critical thinking. Therefore, this research sought to validate the use of theatrical intervention based on the production of scripts for theater sketches as a facilitating tool in the process of teaching and learning about STIs, producing from this action, a didactic manual with scripts of theater plays derived investigative action and student protagonism. The target audience of the research was students of the third year of High School of a state school located in the city of Serrinha-BA. The applied methodology had a diagnostic stage, using a survey, problematization and hypothesis formulation, raising the students' previous knowledge about STIs. Soon after, the students were divided into teams for the elaboration of theatrical scripts, based on participation in a theater workshop and research and investigations on various themes of the STIs, guided by the teacher-researcher. Finally, the students presented and discussed their textual productions among themselves. For the evaluation stage, analyzes of students' participation in the entire process were used, from the post-intervention survey to compare the results obtained in the diagnostic phase, the survey containing questions about STIs from external evaluations and the student evaluation of the applied methodology. It was observed that this subject is still seen as a taboo for most, being discussed more frequently with friends and at school, with little family participation. The results showed that the research participants before the intervention had difficulties in recognizing the types of STIs, the ways of transmission, prevention and treatment, who did not understand differences between HIV and AIDS and had no notion of how a person can live with HIV. The students presented large number of correct answers in the questions of external evaluations, evaluated the methodology well with grades between 8 and 10 and 94% of them stated they were interested in the use of theater in biology classes. In short, the production of theater scripts for discussions about STIs was presented as an efficient pedagogical strategy, streamlining the learning process and guaranteeing the construction of knowledge based on practices that favored research and student autonomy. The mimicry of the aspects of everyday life, presented through theater scripts, induces the adolescents to think about the theme in a practical and applied way, modulating the behavior for a healthy experience of sexuality, which consequently can act directly in reducing the still alarming rates of STIs.
