Invertebrados marinhos em cordel: abordagem educativa no agreste alagoano

Abstract

The present study deals with the educational use of the cordel in the study of benthic invertebrates and aims to motivate intercultural dialogues, improving the knowledge of the students of the hinterland region on benthic invertebrates of the Alagoan coast. The methodological strategies addressed in the classroom were used to assist in the study of Biology / Zoology. The work was presented to the pedagogical team of the school and soon after, it was requested that the parents and / or responsible of the students involved in the research signed the Term of Free and Informed Consent (TCLE), where were described the objectives and development of the research, being free participation of the student. The research was carried out with a 2nd grade high school class in August 2016. In the first stage of the work, the students answered a previous questionnaire, with questions about benthic invertebrates and the use of cordel in the classroom. The second stage was subdivided into three moments. The first moment refers to an expository and dialogued class. In the second moment, verses in cordel produced by the researcher were used, approaching several examples of these benthic invertebrates. The students discussed the information contained in the texts in comparison with the scientific information of the books and they were socialized in the form of a collective reading. In the third moment, a workshop was offered with the production of string verses and woodcut-style illustrations of low-cost materials by the students involved in the research. After each intervention, the students answered questionnaires containing multiple choice and discursive questions. The application of the previous questionnaires showed that a significant number of the students involved in the research comprised some basic structures and examples of these marine animals, but their studies and contextualizations could be approached more significantly. The relation of cordel use in the classroom was highlighted in the results, thus strengthening the suggestion of its use in the approach of scientific contents. Students demonstrated familiarity with the literary genre of the string, strengthening its cultural use in scientific study. The workshop valued the previous and scientific knowledge in the construction of the verses in line of authorship of the students on benthic invertebrates. At this time, the students illustrated the texts produced using a technique that imitates the woodcut using styrofoam and gouache paint. The results portrayed the participants' enchantment with the texts and illustrations of their authorship. They reported that the use of the cord and its illustrations value their local culture and that their use in the classroom facilitated the understanding of benthic invertebrates. The texts illustrated by the students were exposed in class and socialized with the whole class. The cordel texts produced by the researcher served as subsidies for deepening the content addressed. This collection of string texts will be part of the proposed educational product, which can be used in the classroom, facilitating the study of Biology / Zoology.
